Unique & Usable.

Please, feel free to explore what's here right now and, don't worry, and we'll expand the site, last major update being May 2008. Websites are always a work in progress.

What do we do? We make sturdy, usable pottery that is Celtic- and historically-inspired, spanning quite a range: cups, plates, bowls, bottles, cookware, tiles, jugs, and vases, to keep the list short. Our pieces are food-safe, dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe, and oven-safe.

Sometimes we are referred to as "the Allyshian Potters," since we are within the Barony of Allyshia, or "the (Western) pottery ladies." We are well known in the West Kingdom (or the northern-most counties of California for those outside the SCA) for our distinctive pottery and acceptance of special orders.

Where are we? See the list of where to find Reannag Teine Pottery. And soon, select pieces will be available to purchase via the website.

We do not create bunches of identical pieces: each piece is hand-thrown or formed then individually painted, and though we do make sets the pieces are not churned from a mold. We aim for sturdy wares, as food-safe as possible, painted with designs from the Celtic and Viking traditions, as well as the ones we create in their fashion, are hand-painted onto many of the pieces. There are wares aimed for wars and camping, and others for grand feasts. Fighters have been heard to comment favorably on the fact that they could use their new-bought cup as a bludgeon (not a recommended activity though). We also make lighter pieces for those with hand issues such as tendonitis or carpal tunnel.

For some examples please visit here. Also we are researching to create visually historic ceramics, up to the 1500's. Visually only, because we keep all our functional-ware food-safe. We are also open to custom orders, and here are some samples of ones we have done. Custom pieces depicting a person's device are always welcome.

More questions? Please go to the list of ones we get all the time, and if you don't find an answer there you can always ask us by email.
