Islamic, Greek, or Italian Renaissance... skulls or Viking kitties, we are devoted to creating unique pieces of historically inspired ceramic art--a touch of the unique you can use all the time. Hand-thrown and hand-painted yet safe for food, dishwasher, microwave, and oven. Reannag Teine, gaelic for “star fire” in reference to the heat of the kilns, is a mother-daughter team with six degrees and a myriad of art awards between them... and a healthy amount of humor to bring it all together. All the designs are drawn free-hand and hand-painted onto the hand-thrown pottery—no stencils used: beauty for everyday use. More than that, we welcome custom orders. Coats of arms, business logos, or unique design requests, we enjoy creating the piece to fill the need. In addition to making pottery, we make game sets, dice, replica weights & beads, SCA coloring books, & produce designs for pewter, t-shirts, & custom graphics. As we are always developing new design and items, if there's anything you have seem on our social medias feeds or in-person but don't see on the website, just email to start an order for it.
Yes, we take custom orders. Check out the Custom Pottery Page. Weather and workload permitting, it could be ready in four to ten weeks (why so long? Please read here). Prices vary with decoration and size. No two pieces are ever exactly alike; it is part of their charm. We have done everything from color, size, or weight variations on existing pieces to matching pieces to complete dining sets to the replication of historical finds. How do you place a special order? Email us with what you are interested in, including design, colors, choice of clay, sizes and shapes, types and number of pieces, along with any source information or references pictures. We will reply with a quote and time estimate Personalized designs must be paid in full when the order is placed. All sales are final.

On many occasions we have been asked to make historic-find reproductions. We do so, in the same style as the rest of our pottery. In other words, we re-create the look and feel of the desired era and piece while maintaining the food-safe integrity of our wares. This means we create the look without using toxic or unstable glazes, techniques using raw oxides on food surfaces, or wood- and salt-firing. We use electric kilns--and more than 70% of our state's electricity comes from environmentally responsible sources.
Also, we offer graphic design services. While we may obviously specialize in Celtic designs, we strive to produce designs to the specifications of the customer, whether that is a Celtic humpback whale or a "fun logo using these words and these 3 colors."An outgrowth of our design work, we have created a line of Territorial Heraldry Coloring Books for the SCA Kingdoms. What we sell is handmade pottery, thus there will always be variations and features to the things we create. It is part of the process. All sales are final. No return shipping labels provided. We are not responsible for any fees incurred for package pick-up for international orders; our shipping fees cover shipping only and not any additional fees charged by the receiving postal service.
